Nokia after the success of Lumia series has launched another line of Lumia Smartphone’s which is powered with Windows 8 operating system. Nokia launched two versions of Lumia handset 920 and 820. Nokia’s Asha has been well received by many critics and users, and with Lumia they want to improve their customer base after falling behind in the Smartphone market by the likes the Apple, Samsung, Motorola, LG and Sony. Nokia Lumia 920 is better than the Lumia 900 as they have improved on several features.
Design and Build:
The design of the new Lumia 920 is similar to its predecessor. Different colors of Lumia 920 are available such as Yellow, Lipstick Red, and Slate Grey. The body is also same as Lumia 900 which was made of polycarbonate. The dimensions of this handset are 130.3 x 70.8 x 10.7 mm respectively and its weight is around 185g. The chrome button is manufactured with ceramic which resist this phone from any type of scratches.
Display:
The size of the capacitive touch screen is 4.5 inches and supports 768 x 1280 pixels resolution with 332 ppi pixel density. Ike many other Lumia handsets this handset is also protected with Corning Gorilla Glass and with another interesting feature which is PureMotion HD display. It also supports 16M colors which mean that watching High-definition videos and games will be more than fun. The display is improved with the help of fast refresh rate which decreases the flickers on the screen. With ClearBlack display filter viewing this phone in various environmental conditions is clear.
Features:
As discussed earlier Lumia is powered with the latest version of Windows OS which is 8. There are lots of interesting features in the OS and one of them is the offline amps which is very helpful. The new customizable home screen is very good and tiles are available in three different sizes. Modification with the UI can be done very easily without changing much. On the back panel there is 8MP camera which uses the same algorithm as the PureView Smartphone. After the disappointing camera in Lumia 900, Nokia seems to have tried to improve it. Other features of the camera are Image stabilization, autofocus and LED flash. Secondary camera is of 1.3MP which is standard among many other Smartphone’s. 1080p videos scan be captured with this camera and the output is also very good.
Processor and Connectivity:
Nokia Lumia 920 is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor which is clocked at 1.5GHz. This processor is used in many other high-end Smartphone’s such as Samsung SIII and HTC One X. 1Gb RAM is provided to make the full use of the amazing processor. Adreno 225 is sued for GPU purpose. The internal memory is around 32GB and there is no provision for the external memory. For connectivity GPRS, Bluetooth v3.1 A2DP, EDGE, NFC and microUSB is provided. This Smartphone also supports 3G and 4G network. The battery is of 2000mAh and it can last for a complete day according to the Nokia. Another very interesting fact about their battery is that Wireless charging is possible in this handset.
